AUTOWARE participates in the IEEE 23rd International Conference on Emerging Technologies and Factory Automation
November 5, 2018
The Miguel Hernández University of Elche (UMH), partner in the AUTWARE project, has attended the IEEE 23rd International Conference on Emerging Technologies and Factory Automation (ETFA 2018) of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society (IES) to present the prototype developed by the UMH to provide reliable and flexible communications for mobile industrial applications. The conference was held in Turin, Italy, from 4th to 7th of September 2018.
The UMH prototype is integrated in the IK4 Tekniker Neutral Experimental Facility for Collaborative Robotics and it provides a reliable and flexible communication between a mobile robotic platform and a remote controller. The solution uses two redundant wireless links between the mobile robotic platform and the remote controller. Data is sent simultaneously through the two links. This solution allows to improve the reliability of the communication at the same time that reduces the latency of the end-to-end communication. This paper presents some of the initial results achieved in the experimental trials performed at the IK4 Tekniker facilities.
