Dr. Javier Gozalvez presented in the Factories of the Future Community Days some of the advances achieved in AUTOWARE towards the paradigm of the autonomous factory and digital automation. He presented 5G communications as a technological enabler to support Industry 4.0, and the wide range of communication requirements demanded by the industrial applications. Dr. Javier Gozalvez showed some of the novel solutions proposed in AUTOWARE to address current 5G technological challenges, such as RAN Slicing and grant-free scheduling for uplink transmissions.

The European Factories of the Future Research Association (EFFRA) is a non-for-profit, industry-driven association promoting the development of new and innovative production technologies. It is the official representative of the private side in the 'Factories of the Future' public-private partnership.
